Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars An outstanding practical reference for active exporters.   November 7, 1998

Our copy of this book is being used constantly by our consulting staff. It covers the complicated process of shipping products to foreign markets. We recommend it to our clients, especially those who handle their own international shipping, insurance and payment processing. John R. Jagoe, Director, Export Institute.

5 out of 5 stars Most comprehensive in the market   September 26, 2005

As the title suggests, this is a documentation book and does this job really well. I bought this book as a novice without any knowledge of the procedure and I can comment that now I have good knowledge of the process. Small companies can benefit and may need only 1/4 of this book and large organizations can search from the huge pile of information. Even if you are starting out a small export business, this is one book you should refer to.

4 out of 5 stars Valuable information   July 9, 2010

This book is large because it contains a lot of information you may not care about. For example, how to set up a corporate ex/im department. What you pay for are those sections of some chapters that are on point. This is information you probably wont get anywhere else. Whereas the book is somewhat out of date-- it contains copies of a lot of old paper forms whereas the world is going digital and online-- it's good to have familiarity with the content and purpose of these forms anyway as they document the process itself, which you need to understand. The key descriptive sections you need are also vital even if the rest of the book may seem pointless. I bought the book used but in prime condition and plan to hang on to it for occasional refresher reads. I'm not sure I would pay full retail as the parts I needed were a small portion of the overall book. But I did need those parts.

3 out of 5 stars Thanks for the good book   April 2, 2008

This book has given me a good background & examples.
It is devided as 3 parts (export, import, appendix), but the contents for export & import are almost same, I mean too much repeating.

Anyway what a good book!!
Today I have ordered other books related export & import, so we will see.
